Earlier this term as part of our topic focus on Anzac Day our students painted some fantastic poppies in a style of their own choice. Some students opted to paint beautiful flowers to represent the gardens of the families who were waiting back in New Zealand. The students really enjoyed this activity and as you can see created fantastic works of art!
On Wednesday of last term we had a special guest visit our junior school. Mr Mac (Alistair McIntyre), the author of Doug the Digger visited our school in his very large truck as part of our Duffy Books in Homes programme. It was really interesting to hear how Mr Mac became an author. It was also great to see his original writing drafts and sketches and to see how they developed over time into a published book. We have some fantastic authors in Room 7 and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them become published authors in the future!
Now that our classroom has our blog up and running I will be uploading photos taking during Term 1 so that you can see what our students have been up to already this year. As you will see we’ve had lots of fun learning opportunities!
As Term 2 progresses, posts will be added about our current learning and activities happening within our school and wider community. In addition, student work will also be shared on our blog.
